Social Media platforms have become one of the essential parts to the sales and marketing funnel.
In fact, it has bought about a change in the traditional marketing funnel, where you take customers from awareness down to buying your product. Now the funnel has to be extended to include Advocating. Instead of just buying your product, social media allows people to then sell your product for you! They have already made a judgement about you and they are passing that directly onto their friends. Because of this recommendation, these friends go straight to the consideration level, bypassing the awareness stage where people are finding out about your products.
As we know, word of mouth is the most trusted form of marketing. Social media is a perfect platform to utilise this.
What are you doing to allow and create ADVOCACY for your customers? Do not underestimate the power of referral, word of mouth, recommendation or whatever other word you want to use – make sure your marketing plan accounts for this avenue.
